Abstract: The destruction of the institution of the family and parent-child relationship, caused by a number of socio-economic, socio-political and other problems, determines the necessity for psycho-pedagogical support biological families of children in institutions for orphans and children left without parental care. The recognition of the child's right to live and be raised in a family actualizes the problem of deinstitutionalization as the primary strategy for the prevention of child abandonment – the recognition of the value of family, motherhood, fatherhood and childhood. The above mentioned facts actualise the necessity for development and implementation of the psycho-pedagogical support programme of biological families of the children in institutions for orphans and children left without parental care. This programme is aimed at finding and practical implementation of modern approaches to work with the biological family, optimal forms and methods of interaction for strengthening the parent-child relationship, determining significant changes in the family system, ensuring realization and protection of the child right to live and grow up in the family.
