Abstract: The article deals with a complex set of interrelated and interdependent notions and phenomena from the field of performing art of a musician related to the levels of professionalism, formed under conditions of interaction between the environment and the education process in various aspects: in the musical, educational, cultural, social and material interdependence. Methods and scientific literature do not give unambiguous definitions and characteristics of the notions mentioned above. Therefore, the author of the article gives her own interpretation of the notion of musical educational environment and the process of its professionalization with reference to well-known methods and scientific researches. In particular, she identifies six environmental components and four conditions for the growth of professionalism of performance. Performing art is seen as an adequate realization of performing intentions, which, nevertheless, has a dynamic character and is manifested each time at a new level of manifestation both in the education process and in performing activities. Particular emphasis is placed on the assessment of the current challenge of professionalization of the education process in the Children's Art School – in the musical school. The article defines the value of objective scientific approach to the interpretation of this process not as a separate administrative measure, but as a natural course of self-development and continuing education system realizing the requirements of the medium and high aims of art, embodied in a truly artistic form. The purpose of the article is determined by the practical task to find an objective scientifically reasoned response to the challenge of the time, which is connected with the the need to give the process of professionalization of initial children's musical education a new impetus. Realization of this goal is effected both in terms of scientific analysis of the notions under study and in terms of practical work of the Children's Art School solving the problem of raising the level of professionalism of performing activities of children.
