Relations between Language, Speech and Thinking. Language and Thinking in F. De Saussure’s Conception

Abstract: Language is a system of signs (symbols), which is social, stable and is handed down from generation to generation. Speech is a definite content, expressed in verbal communication according to the language standards; it is characterized by individuality, randomness and changeability. Speech precedes the language; it is a natural embodiment of the language. The result of thinking is expressed by the language means; it is the process of transformation of the thought into speech. The perception of speech is a process of adaptation of the verbal signal (stimulus) and the process of thinking stimulation.
