Abstract: The article is devoted to the experience of project work on the Second World War issues at the Faculty of Russian as a Foreign Language of the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia. It shows the effectiveness of the project "Let us remember!" implementation, aimed at the formation of a positive image of Russia as a country-winner of fascism and the protector of the peace among the foreign students. The article proves the relevance and practicability of expanding the information field on the subject of the Second World War, more accurate representations of specific events of the wartime and the important role of the Soviet Union in the victory over fascism for foreign students. During the project implementation there was a whole range of social and cultural events, which finally resulted in increased motivation for learning the Russian language and literature, deepening the knowledge of Russian history and culture, the acquisition of cooperating skills in an international team, the students’ approach to understand Russian national values.
