Abstract: One of the prevailing approaches to formation of innovative economy of the XXI century, at all levels: global, national, regional and institutional, is based on the foreground development of high-tech industries, for the creation and development of which the staff of the highest qualification are required. The period from 2010 to 2020, which was marked by the global crisis, is a phase of both technological development and technological innovation. The modernization of the system of education is an essential condition of the innovative economy establishment. Specialized education could serve as one of the most effective mechanisms of training of schoolchildren for work in hi tech economy. In the system of specialized education, teaching staff meets new requirements. This article describes the purpose and objectives, as well as theoretical and practical results of the research project "Strategy of development of system of profile training to prepare school students to work in knowledge-intensive sectors of the municipal economy of Moscow". One of the directions of this project is development and implementation of additional professional training programs for teachers in the area of formation of students for work in knowledge-intensive sectors of the municipal economy of Moscow in the system of profile education.
