Gender Peculiarities of the Content-Semantic Aspect of Sociability of Boys and Girls of a Pedagogical University

Abstract: This article examines gender features of manifestation of sociability among girls and boys of a pedagogical University. In the beginning of the article the authors dwell on the concepts of sociability and gender and defined the research problem. The article deals with theoretical aspects of the study of gender peculiarities of sociability in girls and boys. It describes an empirical research undertaken by the authors and presents its results. The paper reveals the factor structure of sociability in boys and girls which was studied using the method developed by A. I. By Krupnov, allowing the researcher to consider the given quality of the individual multidimensionally, i.e. in the system of regulatory, dynamic and productivemeaningful characteristics. A comparative quantitative analysis of the variables of sociability among girls and boys allowed making a conclusion about gender specificity of the manifestations of these personality traits. Thus, the unity of the observed variables in the hierarchy of sociability of the content-meaningful aspect of boys indicates proper understanding of both the properties of sociability and the ways and methods of its manifestation. They associate sociability with development in different areas. They have more pronounced activity and self-control of sociable behavior. The girls’ understanding and knowledge as realization of the role of sociability in achievement of success and productivity of learning was not detected at a significant level. Girls display slightly reduced activity of sociability because of the limited arsenal of techniques and means of communicative behavior and weak internal regulation of sociability. Girls, more often than boys, are stimulated by socially-centered motivation related to the solution of all possible social problems. Considering the degree of manifestation of sociability variables one can also note that both girls and boys have practically no difficulties in the manifestation of sociability, either operational or personal.
