Work on the Coherent Monological Speech in the Course “Intercultural Communication” in a Group of Chinese Students (From Practical Experience)

Abstract: The article presents the means of developing the lexicon and creating the text in Russian at the lessons of Intercultural Communication. The technologies consider the ethno cultural features of the Chinese students. The exercises imply the specifics of the Chinese educational system (learning by heart, absence of dialogue with the teacher). The basis of the Russian methods of teaching Russian as a foreign language is direct method and the use of visual aids. The students are taught to understand new words on the basis of their situational explanation; the teacher tries to develop the skills of contextual guess. The author presents a number of the effective teaching techniques promoting the perception of the regionally and culturally orientated text and self-creation of the text, which includes prop words, translator, word family and definition techniques. Presentations and oral reports of students proved that theses techniques are effective and they help to enlarge the students’ vocabulary and they teach them to make a coherent monological text.
