Abstract: The article considers the problem of theatricalization integration in teaching a foreign language at a higher school. The authors provide the background to the use of theatricalization in educational activities and show that theatricalization is a traditional activity at schools and pedagogical institutes. However, communicative potential of theatricalization appears to be neglected at a non-linguistic higher school. Based on the definition analysis, the authors suggest defining theatricalization as an integrated pedagogic technology, formulate the approaches and principles of the given technology, describe the technology realization conditions at a non-linguistic higher school, and prove its feasibility. The authors dwell on the stage-by-stage principle that explains the logic of linguistic material presentation in the context of theatricalization and allows seeing the connection of the stages of language and speech material presentation with those of speech activity as the basis for work with material precisely in such sequence. One of the technology realization conditions is a set of exercises based on the play script used by the educational theater as a component of didactic method. The article describes various kinds of exercises and specifies the tasks which are to be solved with the help of these exercises. These tasks correlate with concrete kinds of speech and with formation of specific speaking skills significant for personal development of students. The given exercises contain speech material fragments presented to students, and, in addition, illustrate the described technology.
Key words: Theatricalization, pedagogic technology of a foreign language acquisition at a higher school, technology realization conditions, set of exercises, play script as a component of didactic method.
