Abstract: The psychological aspect of risk is one of the most discussed problems of modern interdisciplinary research. The profession of psychologist involves plenty of undefined situations, which can be the origin of risks for career development. The article presents the analysis of the structural components of the phenomenon of risk in relation to the profession, based on the literature analysis and our own empirical research. The content analysis of internet communication has identified present trends in understanding the role of risk in the psychological practice by professional psychologists. The study of the profession of psychologist from the point of view of the risks in this profession helps not only to improve the educational process, but to form certain orientations for the professional psychologists as well. There is a misbalance between the discussion of the phenomenon of risk in the scientific works and in the internet communication of professional psychologists, which is one of the communicative risks in this profession.
