Professional-Pedagogical Orientation of Teachers of Physical Education

Abstract: One indicator of the high level of professional and personal development of teachers is professional-pedagogical orientation. This characteristics of personality presupposes that the teacher of physical education, as of any other subject, has interest and love for the teaching profession, understanding of the difficulties and joys of a teacher's work, the need for educational activities and the desire to master the basics of pedagogical skills. The analysis of the literature shows that there is currently no common understanding, definition and structure of teacher’s pedagogical orientation. But in spite of different approaches, professional orientation of teachers is understood as an integrative quality of a person, including the emotional and value attitude to teaching, sustained interest in it, striving for continuous improvement of pedagogical skills and acquisition of new knowledge in order to enhance the pedagogical and psychological outlook in accordance with the trends in the development of modern science. Accordingly, under professional orientation of the teacher of physical education we understand complex education, the dominant component of which is focused on physical training, sports and teaching. The article reveals the essence and the structure of professional-pedagogical orientation in general and professional orientation of teachers of physical education in particular.
