Independent Work of Teachers to Improve Their Skills

Abstract: The article discusses teachers as the subject of educational process and the importance of independent work or a teacher to develop and advance their professional skills. Independent work of teachers in advanced training is one of the forms of the educational process, which can be considered its significant part. Advanced training of teachers performs both general functions, typical of studying in an educational institution, and specific functions. Independent work of a teacher means that getting involved in this work he/she gets the definite result – the product of activity. In the process of acquisition of some amount of knowledge through the prism of their professional experience, the teacher becomes familiar with the methodological bases of working with theory and its application in educational practice and the ways and means of professional self-development. Besides, the development of the project thinking takes place as an important quality of a modern teacher ready to work on their own - to teach, which is reflected in the didactical content of professional self-development. The final result of independent work of a teacher in the period of advanced training is the experience of independent, autonomous activity, on the basis of which readiness to professional activity and self-development in this sphere is formed.
