Abstract: This article describes a criterion-diagnostic apparatus, contributing to the evaluation of the level of formation of communicative competence of a preschool teacher. The author suggested the definition of communicative competence of a preschool teacher. The necessity of improving the level of formation of the communicative competence of the teacher is proved, as a prerequisite for effective interaction of the teacher with all participants of the educational process. The definition of criterion-diagnostic apparatus is given; the criteria of communicative competence of a preschool teacher are singled out. For each of the criteria, the author determined the optimal, sufficient and critical levels of formation of communicative competence of a preschool teacher. The article describes diagnostic materials to check the level of formation of communicative competence of preschool teachers. It is the first time that the questionnaire is described, which allows to determine the level of formation of the teachers’ skills to adequately evaluate their communication skills and the ability to evaluate the communication partner. The second diagnostic task, described in the article, aimed at determining the level of formation of knowledge about the communicative competence of preschool teachers in their professional activities. The business game presented in the article gives an opportunity to evaluate the level of formation of communicative competence in professional activities. The tasks provided by the author of the article make it possible to objectively evaluate the communicative competence of a teacher of preschool educational institution.
