Abstract: The article discusses the features of the creative personality, the relationship of creativity and creative orientation, their differences and manifestations. Manifestations of creativity on the basis of activity of the person are studied. The article offers a variety of musical activities to develop creativity as a quality of a teacher-musician. The authors examine such qualities of creative personality as importance, intensity, efficiency, sustainability from the point of creativity. Creativity, according to the authors, includes the speed, the energy, the desire to find new ways and means of action. The criteria of creativity are: spontaneity - at the somatic level, tension (energetic character) - on the psychological level, exploratory character - on the mental level. A creative teacher-musician is able to learn and to involve the students in the following types of creative activities: motional-creative (spontaneous and random); affective and creative (emotionally-sensitive); cognitive and creative (conscious retrieval); spiritual and creative (intuitive). Teaching improvisation techniques contributes to the development of creative personality. The authors determined the conditions of using improvisation, playing techniques are presented in musical improvisation activities, and in the acquisition of knowledge about music. Creativity of a personality manifests itself in various forms of musical activity. They include aleatory, pointillism, music of timbres. Creativity of a teacher-musician’s personality is characterized by inner freedom, harmony, expressiveness and the desire to find new ways to interact with the students.
