Abstract: The paper discusses the possibility to use the educational potential of the GTO complex (Ready for Labour and Defense Complex). The goal of the Complex is not only health promotion, but also development of patriotic feelings and formation of positive attitude to healthy lifestyle. Well planned actions helps to teach moral values in such areas as patriotism, ecological education, cultural heritage and career choice. Patriotic education should rely on the huge sport experience of our country, as well as modern trends in sport. Development of moral values in GTO Complex includes development of such moral qualities as honesty, insistence and the desire to win. Integration of GTO Complex with the national holidays helps to introduce our cultural heritage. Physical education and health protection is the main goal of GTO Complex. The Complex includes not only the standards but also a list of activities for a week for all ages and a part, which helps to assess the level of physical education of a person. Labour education may be treated as career choice from the point of view of the Complex. Ecological education is realized via standards, which include walking tours. Thus GTO Complex helps to solve the problems of health improvement and moral education.
