Abstract: The article is devoted to the problem of sudent’s personality socialization. Social competencies are treated as socialization criteria, since the improvement of the pedagogical system within the competence approach emphasizes the task of self-learning of students to acquire the key social and business skills necessary to solve life problems. The result of socialization depends on the way this problem is solved in the educational process of school. The content of the concept of "socialization" is considered within the framework of the competence approach, which, in domestic pedagogy, began to dominate at the end of the 80-s. An analysis of the research of the group of social competencies by scientists in relation to various fields of knowledge is given. The basic definitions of the concept “social competence” are given by several Russian scholars: I.A. Zimnya, V.N. Kunitsyna, A.I.Subetto, A.V. Barannikov and A.V. Khutorskaya. The paper gives its own classification of social competences, which act as a separate group aimed at formation of the necessary social experience, and not just communication skills. The structure of social competencies is defined: the name of the competence, its definition and behavioral indicators. All the proposed groups of competences contain a socially-oriented aspect and can be interpreted through regional needs: without any one of them development of a qualified, socialized person capable of benefiting the society is almost impossible.
