Abstract: The article is devoted to the problem of the development of skills of independent creative language activity of learners in foreign language classes at the higher school. The purpose of self-organization of learners’ educational activity is to properly study the educational material provided by the curriculum forming learners’ general cultural and professional competences. They allow creating a favorable environment for teaching a future highly qualified specialist. In this way there is a process of formation of the learner’s independence which is carried out indirectly by means of contents and the entire set of approaches and techniques, following the method of mastering all kinds of learning activities. The key to successful mastering a foreign language in self-study is the provision of the learner with all the necessary set of teaching materials and resources in order to transform the learner’s self-organization of educational activity in a truly creative process. It is emphasized that control over the self-organization of educational activity in any form should not be limited only to administrative measures; it is to be understood as a suitable didactic resource that has a positive effect on the self-organization of educational activity of the learner as a whole. The authors have analyzed the model of self-organization of academic activity of the learner through the use of the Internet, examined the potential of self-organization of educational activity in the process of learning a foreign language and the conditions for its effective implementation. As a result a number of guidelines with the aim of improving the quality of knowledge of a foreign language in non-linguistic educational institutions have been proposed.
