Abstract: The paper gives philosophic and methodological interpretation of the concept of art therapy, which is viewed as an innovative technology of socio-pedagogical work with children. It describes interdisciplinary ideas of transformation of art therapy in the use of the artistic means and artistic communication aimed at optimization of subjective and objective conditions of socialization of children having different problems. The concept of “art therapy” is analyzed from the point of view of different spheres of its use; the key methodological problems and the ways for their solution during art therapy are outlined. A new philosophical and theoretical approach to art therapy is worked out to organize its empirical experience as a resource of preventive and remedial work using the means of art to help children to join he community. The paper discloses the potential of culture-based and integrative approaches in the humanities and aesthetic education to develop social and pedagogical model of art therapy and its methods with the use of resourcebased approach and the principles of poly-artistic approach and facilitation in Pedagogy of art, which increases the effectiveness of interpretation of the meaning of the pieces of art by the person. The goal of the research is to reveal the opportunities of art therapy, to generalize and extend its content in the context of culture and technology and to use its methods in non-clinical practice. These will contribute to the solution of organizational and technological problems in the field of art therapy innovations with regard to the peculiarities of inculturation and socialization of children.
