Abstract: The article deals with the main approaches to the diagnosis of psychological well-being. There are two main approaches. The first (hedonistic) one evaluates manifestation of positive emotions (happiness) and focuses on the analysis of emotional and cognitive components of well-being. The second approach (eudemonic) treats well-being as an indicator of positive functioning of a personality; well-being is divided into psychological, personal and social. The author conceptualizes components of psychological well-being, such as positive emotions, motivational involvement, meaningful lifestyle, positive relations and positive self-realization. The author presented the results of psychometric experiments on the development of psychological well-being questionnaire. The article discusses the correlation between the individual components of psychological well-being. The results manifested that the positive self-realization is most closely associated with the engagement and the meaningfulness of life. Positive emotions are also closely linked with the engagement and the meaningfulness of life. Positive relationship is closely connected with positive emotions, engagement and meaningful life. The person, who showed intense engagement into a motivational flow, finds more sources of meaning, based on a differentiated conceptual system.
