Abstract: This article analyzes the policy of the Soviet government, aimed at reforming the secondary schools of Ekaterinburg to start peaceful development in early 1921 after liberation of the city from the power of the White. The reform was aimed at the establishment of unified co-educational labour schools, and dissolution of different departments in the system of school management. The article describes breakaway from the democratic tendencies in the management of educational institutions that took place during the revolution; it highlights the attempts of the Soviet authorities to introduce shop classes and to establish labour camp schools and school-communities. The policy of the Bolshevik authorities is analyzed, which aimed at promotion of active co-operation between different categories of teachers, and the development of meetings and events to enhance the professional and political level of teachers. The publication is the continuation of the articles by I. Bakhtina and M. Popov and I. Klimenko and M. Popov, published in the journal "Pedagogical Education in Russia" in 2016 – 2017. This paper completes the description and analysis of the history of comprehensive schools and the teaching community of Ekaterinburg in the years of revolution and civil war.
