Abstract: This article is devoted to the goal-setting in thematic focused reading in a foreign language. The main goal of the article is to show possible results of this kind of reading. This article shows matter focused interaction while comprehension, understanding, extraction and using of information in different kinds of referential reading in achieving goal-task, goal-result. Referential matrix as a product is presented in several ways. We describe the tasks of electronic information resource site as a product of thematic focused referential reading. Thematic focused referential reading with the help of keywords is becoming wide-spread in teaching. It helps to get acquainted with information of professional sphere, and includes selection, accumulation and saving texts or extracts devoted to a certain problem. It allows defining, comprehending, understanding and using important information in solving problems in educational, research and professional activities. Function of the referent-words is studied in detail in referential reading. Either of the three kinds of referential reading has its own special product. Referential reading is closely connected with modern information technologies. The question of using information technologies is topical for professional education. Special attention is paid to hyperlinks. Construction of the subject content structure plays a big role in defining and understanding subject content of the text. Goal-results given here are the basis for identification of types and kinds of such reading.
