Pedagogical Reality Comprehension and Interpretation Problem in Modern Educational Discourse

Abstract: At present, higher professional education is said to be in crisis. The pedagogical science faces an important task to identify the urgent theoretical and practical problems of education, to define clearly their specifics, and to develop ways to overcome contradictions, conflicts of various levels and nature. In the author's opinion, the main contradiction lies in the incompatibility of the value system of ideal educational models with the already existing real atmosphere of social consciousness and behavior. Defining the main inconsistency in the life of society as an opposition between the material and spiritual allows us to understand the source of problems and conflicts in the modern educational system and encourages us to seek the adequate pedagogical paradigms that can overcome them. On the basis of the methodological concept of pedagogical hermeneutics and from the standpoint of ethical pedagogy, the author considers the comprehension and interpretation problem of the pedagogical reality in the modern educational discourse. The basic concepts of professional communication in higher education, and vital questions of the moral education influenced by authoritarian and humanistic ethics are analyzed in detail. Ethical pedagogy analyzes the educational process as a whole of humanistic education, learning and development. The humanitarian mechanisms of education are represented by key categories of hermeneutics: “comprehension”, “understanding”, “interpretation”. The authoritarian pedagogical position of the teacher in the educational process and the authoritarian model used by him in the interaction with the students do not allow the latter to develop in the atmosphere of humanism and spirituality and to assimilate the corresponding norms of behavior. Ethical pedagogy, on the contrary, creates conditions for the individual to be fully self-actualized in meaningful communication and socially useful activity.
