Management Consulting on the Implementation of the Program of Prevention of Organizational Vandalism in Educational Organization

Abstract: The spread of vandalism in the workplace can cause serious threats to an educational organization which mission is to educate people. However, it is difficult to prevent effectively such destructive behavior of personnel, since the manager is required to make management decisions based on an understanding of both the nature of organizational vandalism itself and the factors of organization leading to its occurrence. At the same time, the problem lies in the insufficient theoretical and empirical development of the features of the advisory support of management activities introducing the program of prevention of organizational vandalism in an educational organization. The purpose of writing this article is to characterize the phenomenon of organizational vandalism and the possibilities for its prevention in an educational organization using tools of management consulting. The signs of organizational vandalism are described, as well as the reasons that motivate the personnel of the educational organization to destructive actions with organizational property. Areas of prevention of personnel’s organizational vandalism are highlighted, including work with the material environment of the organization, educational work with the management and staff of the organization on issues of organizational vandalism, organization of information protection, work with corporate culture and organization of work. Using the simulation method, an algorithm for management consulting on the prevention of organizational vandalism has been developed, which includes five stages: initial consultation, identification of facts of organizational vandalism, consulting support, completion of consulting and post-project support. The sequence of actions of the management consultant is presented in the form of a decision-making model for conducting consulting work depending on the presence of manifestations of organizational vandalism in the educational organization, the level of awareness of the head of the educational organization about the essence of organizational vandalism and other factors determining the consultation process.
