Abstract: The article considers the basic regulatory documents of schools with a native (non-Russian) language of instruction, as well as the requirements for the professional activities of teachers working in such schools. The analysis of the Federal State Standard, the Professional Standard “The Teacher”, the Federal State Standard of Higher Education made it possible to formulate the tasks of training school teachers with their native (non-Russian) language of instruction at the present stage. Such requirements include the national, regional and ethnocultural characteristics of the region. Therefore, the activity of a school teacher with a native (non-Russian) language of instruction and taking into account the national, regional and ethnocultural characteristics of the region is defined as ethno-regional-pedagogical one. One can distinguish the invariant and variational components of such an activity. According to the author of the article, the teacher’s knowledge of the Russian and native languages, as well as reliance on age-specific features of the formation of ethnic self-awareness, will contribute to the successful implementation by a teacher of ethno-regional pedagogical activity at schools with a native (non-Russian) language of instruction. The article also discusses the specifics of ethno-regional pedagogical activity at the stages of primary, basic, secondary (complete) education. The main areas of such activity include the formation of students' knowledge about the characteristics of the region, ethnic groups living in the region and their cultures, the use of various forms of extracurricular activities and control and measuring materials. The article reveals the features of the use of projects to form the students' perceptions of the region. As an example, research, creative, gaming, informational, practice-oriented projects are given.
