Abstract: In the context of the intensification of Russian-Chinese cooperation in the field of culture and education, the formation of a university cultural cognitive and educational environment contributes to the successful adaptation of Chinese and Russian students to joint learning, building an intercultural dialogue, and attracting them to creative interaction. In the formation of the university cultural cognitive and educational environment, it is necessary to focus on the multinational polyartistic picture of the world, in which the musical art of Russia and China occupies a significant place. The purpose of the article is to reveal the peculiarities of the cultural cognitive-educational environment, focused on acquainting future music teachers with the vocal art of China. The functional components of such an environment have been identified: cultural and educational; organizational and activity; network collaboration; communicative; educational; value-forming; information resource. The results of a diagnostic study of the awareness of Russian students about the musical culture of China, Chinese vocal music, its main genres and trends are presented. Comparative analysis of the existing ideas about the musical cultures of China and Russia among Russian and Chinese students studying at a pedagogical university. The presented research results, taking into account the main functional components of the cultural cognitive-educational environment, make it possible to actualize and design it in the conditions of teaching students of the “Music Education” profile at a pedagogical university. Defined: the main directions and content of activities to familiarize students with Chinese vocal music – folk songwriting, national opera and contemporary popular music; forms of work – educational conversation, concert-presentation with the involvement of carriers of Chinese vocal traditions – students from China studying at a pedagogical university.
