Abstract: Statistics show that about 50 thousand disabled people aged 18–30 years are potential applicants, but only 11% enter the university at the age of 17–18 years and 1% – after 18. Despite the available admission opportunities, the percentage of people with disabilities who receive higher education remains extremely low. This article discusses the actualization of three methodological approaches in working with students with disabilities in higher education: inclusive, subject-activity, personal approach. The core of all approaches is the value of a particular person and each individual. These approaches, it is important to implement not only in daily training but also for occasional support of students with special needs and disabilities in the period of the preparation of the professional competitions “Abilympics”. Based on the analysis of scientific articles devoted to the tasks of the movement “Abilympics”, the authors differentiated tasks according to the level at which there are subjects and objects of the movement “Abilympics”. The authors of the article highlighted the levels of tasks for the functioning of the Abilimpix movement: international, social, pre-professional, professional (SPO and he), individual. The article analyzes the experience of teamwork in preparing and accompanying students to the Abilimpics competitions at the Shadrinsk State Pedagogical University. The authors present a team work algorithm that highlights the stages (database collection, indicative, preparation stage for the competition, main (participation in the competition) analytical, tasks corresponding to each stage, content and forms of work with the contestants). When preparing for a professional competition “Abilympics” in the universities has a team of support. These are specialists-psychologists, lawyers, teachers from different faculties who support and organize students with disabilities and disabilities at all stages of their preparation and participation in the competition. The quality of the student’s performance at the competition is a joint result of teamwork. This result depends on the quality of working out any task: (organizational, psychological, pedagogical, competitive, analytical). Participation in Abilimpix competitions of various levels contributes not only to the personal growth of students and the determination of the vector of their professional development in the future, but also expands the prospects for the development of a team of specialists who support students with disabilities.
